You go girl! In what everyone can agree is about time, the National Women's Soccer League announced a huge media deal that is worth $240 million dollars over 4-years for a media distribution deal with CBS Sports, ESPN, Amazon Prime Video, and Scripps Sports to begin in 2024. This represents a 40-fold increase in the size of their deal compared to their previous media distribution contract.

Women’s soccer in the U.S. is having a moment, with the women’s national team and then men’s national team signing a contract to pool their FIFA prize money, according to an article on ESPN.

“Last year, U.S. Soccer, the women's national team and the men's national team came together for a historic and first-of-its-kind deal: The two teams would pool their FIFA prize money together and then split it equally among both teams. Although FIFA prize money is still unequal, the teams have chosen to split it equally.”

Tech

File this under “I’m not sure if this is for real, but I want one!”. A company named Humane AI hit social media in a big way last week announcing the launch of what they are calling ‘AI Pin’; a sort of wearable tech broch if you will. It can record audio and video, you can talk to it and it’ll look things up, or even translate languages in real-time, you can use hand gestures to control its functionality, and it can project a digital display on your hand when you hold it up.
Again, this sounds way too good to be true, but it was all over social media last week with people eager to get one.

The company was founded by former Apple designers Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, and they appeared in a video on X/Twitter on Thursday launching the product, which will begin pre-sales on 11/16/23 and retail for $699.

Humane AI has raised over $200 million from investors including Microsoft, Tiger Global, OpenAI CEO Sam Altmanm, and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

You can’t really blame the guy. I mean, he’s only been on the NY Giants for 3 weeks so far, and before that he was on the practice squad \before being called up. So it’s not that big a deal that he still lives at home, sleeps in the same bed he slept in as a kid, and his mom still does his laundry and cooks him food. Not a big deal, right?!?! Wrong!

The NY Giant’s newest starting Quarterback (because their 1st string Daniel Jones and 2nd string Tyrod Taylor are both injured and possibly out for the season) is Tommy DeVito, and he still lives at home.

Tommy DeVito mentioned in an interview “"It was a no-brainer for me. Everything that I need is there at the house. The decision was made since this level of football is stressful for a rookie, especially from the quarterback position. There is a lot going on, a lot of meetings. So everything outside of football is handled by my family.

I don't have to worry about laundry, what I'm eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there. My mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don't even know if I could find a place closer to here than where I live. It takes me 12 minutes to get here."

Talk about a real life ‘Failure to Launch’! I mean, I get that things have happened really quick for the guy, but he’s been graduated since May 2022. He declared for the 2023 NFL Draft, but went undrafted (sad face). Then the New York Giants signed him as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2023, shortly after the conclusion of the 2023 NFL Draft. Then they waived on August 29, 2023, but re-signed to the practice squad. On the practice squad in the NFL players make $12,000 a week. When he was called up to the 53 man roster for the NY Giants had began making the league minimum of $750,000 a year, which is pro-rated for each game he plays. So having played 3 games out of 18 in the regular season, Tommy DeVito has made $125,000 in the NFL in just his 3 games with the NY Giants.

So yea, as soon as the NY Giants have a bye week he should start hitting Craigslist and begin looking for his own place! Mom can still come over with a freshly cooked dinner, because no one should ever turn down a home cooked meal!

Entertainment

If you haven’t seen ‘Inside Out’, a 2015 Disney Pixar movie, then you’re not going to care one bit about what I’m about to share with you, but if you have seen the movie you’ll be excited to learn the new ‘Inside Out 2’ teaser just dropped and this movie is going to give me anxiety (if you’ve seen the movie you’ll know what I just did there).

‘Inside Out’ did pretty good at the box office in 2015:

Real Estate

Britney Spears’ childhood home just hit the market for $1.2 million, and what’s creepiest about this is the fact that the current owner has renovated the house at all leaving “several Britney Spears stickers, along with a VIP pass from the ‘N Sync World Tour ’98, stuck to a mirror.” They also left the words “Christina sucks Brit rules” written in marker in what they claim was written by Britney Spears herself.

Apparently this house is the legit former home of Britney Spears, but who is going to buy it just because she used to live there and there’s a few stickers and scribbling left on the walls. The current owner bought the home from Britney Spear’s dad in 2021 for $275,000, then literally didn’t fix a single thing and is now asking $1.2 million. Good luck getting mortgage with the current market comparables!

So much news, so little time. Until tomorrow we’re signing out.
